The stove outputs a lot of heat burning dry pine wood (low energy output) and keeps living room and kitchen warm overnight in freezing temperatures. I put 6 logs in at 10 pm and at 8am living room, laundry room and corridor leading to the bedrooms is warm. I use 3 electric oil filled radiator heaters in 3 bedrooms set to the lowest setting. I highly recommend this model as it can take large wood pieces. I live by Yosemite and due to a drought we had 25 pines die on our lot and we have like 4 cords of wood still. Compared to a wood burning fireplace in my other house wood burns 3 times longer in Drolet and outputs literally 10 times more heat. I put 2 20cm propeller diameter heat powered fans on top of it and heat reaches 3 bedrooms as the blowers deliver the heat to the corridor where the bedrooms are. I demolished and threw away propane fireplace that looked good but practically gave no heat and only overheating wooden shelf above, and having exhaust pipe on the wall it dirtied all wall with sud and smoke. It took me 1 day to remove demolish it, 1 week to build 10cm hearth platform out of wood. I put particle boards with screws on it and then tiles. I hired a helper to put rock on the walls of the corner where the stove is. It took (95kg) and a friend (120kg) to move the stove without effort from the garage to the hearth. We used 2x4 wood pieces to slide it up from garage to the laundry room. Next put it on double folded rug and slid it to the hearth- then used 2x4s again. Remove all you can like door and bricks for the move and you'll move under 400lb of weight of the stove. This stove is a great idea as we loose power frequently due to irrational California government mismanagement, so at least now I'm more independent. I save at least $1000 on propane a year now. If you do a project like this (remove gas fireplace and install Drolet) on your own it will cost you about $2500 for materials and garbage disposal in US. I hired chimney installers and worked with a helper so my expenses were $4500 total with all accessories like fans, bucket, tile saw, mortar, wood, tools, etc. With 71% efficiency I think you produce energy cleaner than your energy company does. I also planted 7 new trees and they all are doing well and doubling in height now... Don't wait. Do this. It's work to clean stove glass and haul ash out and water it to put ambers out, and also vacuuming the hearth from what falls off the wood you store by stove, but if things really go south you'll always find free wood, and considering I pay propane company at least $2000 every year, I practically cut my propane bill in half and took out 1 source where gas can possibly leak now. I like looking at the fire especially on the low air intake setting when the flames are moving very slowly. The benefits of this stove are a plenty, and having warm living room from freezing in 30 minutes is priceless- gas heater needs 2 hours for that to happen...

Although I've only had this stove a month, I have to say I'm impressed so far. Unlike the previous stove I had, it provides a consistent steady burn and heat without constantly having to check and feed it. Thus Far I am very pleased with the performance of the wood stove. I did see a marked improvement in the performance of heating with the installation of a outside air supply. If you house is like mine and very well sealed, you will definitely need the outside air for combustion. All in all I am happy with the unit based on the price point, it is a good value for the dollars spent. Currently I am heating approx. 2800 Sq Ft with no issues.

The build quality of this unit is outstanding, I am so impressed! The stove is very simple, and very well made. It burns quite easily and has ample control of the fire. Give it good DRY wood that has been split, covered, and stacked off the ground for one year or more. Do the initial break-in fires outlined in the manual. And adjust the door tension after first week of burning. That's what I've done and the stove is operating flawlessly!

Very happy with it. I picked this one after having read the reviews from other owners. The large door glass area makes it the living room centerpiece. The heat output varies from the type of wood used obviously; from soft pine for when not much heat is needed to a heavy piece of oak when the temperature calls for it.

I am registering this 3 or so weeks after first use. The stove arrived well-packaged (on a pallet) and although large, was easy to install as it was a replacement stove. I followed the manual to a "t" and have had 3 or 4 fires in it progressively getting larger ones. It produces huge amount of heat and is, in my opinion, a better stove than the famous brand name cast iron stove that it replaced. So far, very impressed and I would recommend it.

Great stove with great efficiency and heat output. Arrived well packaged, and looks great. Had a few loose screws that were easily tightened, and a disconnected wire in the blower that we were able to re-attach. Overall, we have been very happy with it, except that the door has warped and doesn't seal after just 4 months of use. We hope the door will be replaced under warranty without a lot of run-around. Otherwise, we are very happy with it so far!

I have the HT3000 Drolet that replaces an old Warner stove I had. This new stove is awesome I love it! I have it set up in my family room a walk in from ground level and it heats the downstairs and the upstairs I have about 900 square ft.² downstairs and 900 sq ft up and it takes care of my whole home. I have received many compliments on it the ambience from the glass doors watching the fires is so relaxing. The Manuel has taught me a lot about burning n what to look for which makes us feel safe with this stove. I suffered a bad chimney fire years back n lost a whole chimney so I have been weary about burning wood but with this new stove I have overcome that fear. If anyone is looking for a great stove with great looks n heating capabilities then this is the one!!! I live in Northern part of New Hampshire n it can get cold here n this stove takes care of us nice n cozy.

This is the first night I am using the stove. Very simple to use with a large viewing area. I have a blower and I will install tomorrow. If you are installing this yourself... the stove comes in a crate on a pallet, under the stove base are cleats to keep the stove from moving on the pallet. You must lift it over the cleats. There should be two people to install, however I do not listen to my own advise and I did install it alone. Awesome stove, I am going to enjoy this. I'm in the Catskill Mountains of New York state at 1900 feet elevation. It gets old here, many nights in the single digits (F). I think I made a good choice!
